Assessment and Verification

Level 3 Assessor Award

The Level 3 Assessor Award is a vital qualification for anyone wanting to work in the education and training industry. Aimed at individuals who wish to become assessors, this qualification enables individuals to assess learners' vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding within the workplace or training environment. It equips individuals with the skills and knowledge required to deliver effective assessments and how to support their learners in achieving their qualifications.

Students must have two candidates ready to assess in order to complete this qualification. These need to be observed live by a qualified IQA or an experienced assessor, and MKLC Training will then conduct a professional discussion with you to confirm your competence.

Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA)

Formerly known as the Internal Verifier Award (D34) or the V1, this qualification is for people who verify the work of other assessors.

The IQA qualification covers key areas such as evaluating, monitoring, and reviewing the assessment process, ensuring consistency and fairness in assessments, and maintaining the quality standards for the assessments and training. This certification is aimed at people working in roles such as internal verifiers, quality managers, and assessors, who are involved in designing, planning, and evaluating assessment and training programs.

The IQA is important as it ensures that the quality of assessment and evaluation processes are maintained at a high level, which in turn contributes towards the standards of education and skill development across different industries. It also helps maintain the credibility of qualifications, providing an assurance to employers, learners, and other stakeholders that the assessment methods and outcomes are of high quality and consistent.

Level 4 External Quality Assurance (EQA)

The External Quality Assurance (EQA) qualification is designed extend your knowledge of the quality assurance process in relation to monitoring centres on behalf of an awarding organisation. The EQA qualification covers a range of topics, including the understanding of assessment principles and practices, the design and implementation of quality assurance systems, and the evaluation of assessment processes and outcomes.

The first unit provides you with knowledge and understanding while the second unit requires you to demonstrate the application of theory by carrying out external QA visits.

Students are required to complete written assignments for Unit 1 and provide evidence of carrying out the EQA role with an Ofqual approved awarding organisation for Unit 2.
