New Requirements for Qualifications

There have been new guidelines sent through regarding the requirements for the following qualifications:

 

Certificate in Education & Training (CET)

If registered before 1st September:

20 hours teaching practice, 2 observations, both can be remote – along with an explanation why direct not possible.

Registered after 1st September:

30 hours teaching practice, 3 observations, all remote with explanation why not direct. Observation can be assessment of materials created and interactions alongside a professional discussion.

 

Assessor Award

Remote observations allowed with explanation why direct observation not possible.

Observations can be interactions alongside a professional discussion.

 

Diploma of Education & Training (DET)

If registered before 1st September:

70 hours teaching practice, 6 observations. A mentor can carry out observation.

Registered after 1st September:

100 hours teaching practice, 8 observations, remote possible with explanation as to why not direct. Observation can be assessment of materials created and interactions alongside a professional discussion.
