Should field trips be an essential part of the Travel & Tourism Curriculum?

Students that attend our provision, have often been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream so with this comes behaviours that are risky when taking students off site to attend such field trips.

I have found myself marking student’s written work and assignments, realising that much of what is written, is without substance, in some cases this was due to the student never having been outside of their home town.  I wanted to look into how essential field trips are to learners...
