Diploma in Education & Training (DET)

Diploma in Education & Training (DET)

You must be aged 19 or over to enrol on this course.

Prior achievement is recognised, but copies of certificates must be forwarded to MKLC Training before starting the programme.  The course is open to everyone who is capable of reaching the required standards and students must review their development needs in relation to English, maths and ICT skills as they are required for the successful outcome of this programme.

Students are required to produce evidence of 100 hours of teaching practice (including 8 hours of observations of teaching practice) that are logged and signed off by their line manager.  These can be carried out over a period of time to show progression, and teaching practice can also be video recorded and sent to MKLC Training for assessment.  Skype is another option but must be discussed with your tutor. MKLC Training can also arrange on-site observations for an additional cost.
