Online Au Pair Course

When I came to England my au pair coordinator sent me an invitiation letter.  A part of the letter was a MKLC leaflet.  The course for the Au Pairs was among the offered courses.  I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn something new and a way of spending some leisure time.  I had no idea how much I would like it!

And when having accomplished the Au Pair course, I enrolled onto another two courses - TEFL and Teaching Individuals!!!  All the skills I have learnt is very well used nowadays as well as will be used in the future - I am absolutely sure!

The idea of all the courses I have taken is very good and simple - it is more focused on the practical part, rather than learning a great deal of new stuff.  And it suits me perfectly! After uploading any assignment I always look forward to reaading the feedback, that is helpful and useful.  Furthermore, since they are all online courses, they are totally flexible.  I can spend five minutes or five hours studying whenever I want to.

Thanks to MKLC and all the supervisors!

Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning S

I live in a rural location so I always usually have to travel for training or education.  I had tried to access the PTLLS course nearer to home but couldn\'t even get on a course until September using the usual suppliers, so an intensive, week long online course seemed just perfect for me, being the impatient sort that I am.

It was my first distance learning experience so I had no idea what would be expected, but the tutors Clare and Judith made the whole process surprisingly easy for me.  The questions and assignments are set in a way that enable you to provide the required evidence and the tutor provides feedback to point you in the right direction and let you know what areas you need to focus on next.

As for the Micro-teach, I took myself right out of my comfort zone and Clare supported me to take part in the session via skype!....I didn\'t even know what skype was before last week!

It was the perfect way to gain a qualification that I needed for my role as Family Links parent group leader trainer.  I would now choose distance learning as my first option rather than my last, for me it was the perfect way to gain a qualification that I needed.  I thoroughly enjoyed the skype session and I think I am more proud about that than passing the course even.  Thank you all at MKLC.

ESOL

I have been going to my ESOL class for 8 months and I really like to go there.  I\'ve improve myself in writing, listening, reading and speaking a lot by help of my tutor.  I always have good time in my class with my classmates and communicate with them and we get to know each other.  It is really helpful.

IELTS

When I started the IELTS course I was awful.  I thought I would never get enough scores for the exam.  I have got progress throughout the course with an amazing tutor.  Now I get confident for exam and feel ready to take it with all MKLC staff help.  I have never got bored in class because of the tutor who is Sylvia.  She knows how to manage how students pay attention in class....you have fun as well. She discovers your weak sides and gives you an offer on how to improve it.  Also, you can ask her to help whenever, she always reply to your question and always helps as much as she can.

PTLLS

I thought the PTLLS course run by MKLC was the perfect balance of self study and efficient tutor support where needed. The list of assignments appeared daunting to begin with, but I was given good resources and a clear list of further reading, and once I had clarified some initial questions the assignments were quite manageable. I have just started my DTLLS course, and it too seems well organised and I’ve already had some good support from MKLC to get me started.

English

From the very day I arrived to the UK I wanted to continue improving my English especially by attending language course. So I asked few people for advice and the MKLC was recommended to me right away. All I needed to do was to pay a visit at the MKLC headquarters in Wolverton where I talked to a very friendly personnel about courses available. Then I took the assessment test so I can be allocated with the course that’s right for me. The next day was my first day of school. I was introduced to other students and to our teacher. I was little bit surprised by diversity of students that come all over the world but it is certainly a great opportunity to learn something new about other countries and their culture. I was surprised even more by knowledge, experience and professionality of our teacher which makes our English course always interesting and worth going every time. I’m very pleased with and grateful for variety of different exercises we do and topics we discuss in our class and thanks to this and our excellent teacher my English has rapidly improved during four months I have been attending the course. Therefore I would recommend the MKLC to everyone who’d like to improve grammar and pronunciation regardless their current level of English.

ESOL Classes

The first thing I wanted to do in my life was to experience being abroad, so the main question was where and how to study English. My friends advised me MK language centre as the best place for full time study. I have joined the ESOL English course from the elementary level group in October 2008. I could hardly understand English when I came to the UK, but during the next 7 months at MKLC I improve my grammar exceedingly, built my vocabulary and started speaking!

BTEC Business Diploma

Our Principal Judith McKeon was delighted to present Margaret Marciniak with her BTEC Business Diploma. Margaret achieved a Distinction and worked very hard to obtain her Diploma. This is an online course with a weekly interaction in the classroom.

Margaret has also achieved her PTLLS (Licence to Teach) with the centre and we are very proud of her achievements with us. It is with great pleasure that we have made her our Student of the Month.

BTEC Business Diploma

MKLC have provided myself and the rest of my class with an amazing tutor who, with her considerable experience, is able to answer our questions in realistic terms not just something from a text book.

Everybody involved with MKLC is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and highly motivated towards getting students through their qualifications. The people involved with MKLC are always happy to help and are available via email when they are needed. The course is engaging and interesting and is a highly regarded qualification within the business world. On my course alone there are people aged from 19 -  50 and the tutor makes the course relevant to us all. The computer skills vary throughout the group as well and support is there not only from MKLC but from the team spirit that has been instilled by MKLC and its employees.

ESOL Classes

I come from Saudi Arabia with my family to do diploma at Cranfield University and at the same time I studied ESOL English at MKLC. Britain has a free society but everthing is subjected to rules and regulation therefore it\'s a best place to learn and grow.

Learning English at MKLC is fun. The course covers a lot about life in Uk, its tradition and social life other than English language. I really feel my English has improved being at MKLC and I want to improve it further. At MKLC I got chance to meet people from different parts of the world with different culture, religions and different language.

ESOL Classes

I came from Japan one year ago, with my husband. I am pregnant now. Conversation skills and courage are necessary to go to the GP, shopping etc and all parts of life.

My life has changed, so lovely life! Well, I’m happy to come to this school, because students from difference countries excite one another as well as teachers, exchanging opinions, chat about ourselves, so everybody is get English communication skills step by step.

And our teacher’s curriculum is brilliant that is not only writing but also speaking and listening which is very useful for life. It’s my pleasure to meet this class and friend.

ESOL Classes

Do I like going to the ESOL class? That’s an easy question! Yes, I really like going to it because every single day is different. One day you’re working with text, for instance reading and answering questions. It’s hard work, but you’re learning a lot.

On the other day you have to speak a lot with your classmates or with the teacher as well.  It’s nice to listen to the teacher’s experiences which they have had in the past till now.

The best thing at school is to be surrounded by many students from different countries and cultures. It’s quite interesting as well as funny. It was a good experience to join this kind of class.

Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning

I found the right course – the teachers are very professional, the course is brilliant and my English language has improved significantly. On this course, we have students from all  over the world and it makes our lessons even more interesting:

we are learning about different cultures from them, becoming friends and having celebrations together. For the first   time in my life, I experienced pumpkin carving at Halloween. It was so much fun and I learnt about one of the main English traditions

The teachers have introduced us to British culture and they are willing to help us find a job. I have a job at Abbey National bank. I have a wonderful team and it gives me the opportunity to practice my English language. I have found it very useful!

On the course, we are doing exam preparation – ESOL, IELTS, TOEFL and have a great chance to pass entrance exams at the best universities in England and all over the world.

Overall, the course at MKLC is very encouraging and all the students enjoy it very much. I  would recommend it to my best friends as it the best course I have ever done; but of course, I  would recommend it to everyone
