A1 Assessor Award

The A1 Assessor Award is delivered online with course notes, assignments, discussion forum and full tutor support.

Participants need to show that they have both the knowledge and the skills to assess. Our online course provides all the training to cover the knowledge and our own assessors guide candidates through the assessment process, planning assessments, carrying them out, giving feedback and recording the decision. The practical observation of an assessment taking place can be by video or Skype. Skype will cost an additional £50.

Qualified assessors are always in demand and can easily find additional work in companies or other organisations. The online course can be completed within 3 months.

The A1 and the V1 awards are being phased out, although they will continue to remain valid qualifications for assessors and verifiers. The last date for registrations with the awarding body is 31st July 2010 and then there is usually a two year period to complete the qualification.

Replacing the A1 will be a new qualification ready for September 2010. This will have three units instead of the current one unit. The awarding body fees will therefore be much higher and the amount of work involved will also be greater, therefore the cost of the new qualification is going to reflect this.
